Quartz & Granite Worktops. What’s The Difference?

When it comes to deciding what surface to put on your worktop a common question asked is: What’s the difference between Granite and Quartz?

Granite is a natural stone taken out of the ground cut up into slabs and polished. Granite has a natural vein and texture finish, with a high polish or matt finish available. Granite has a high resistance to heat and takes a lot of wear. When choosing lighter colours its best to go and pick your own slab as colours and designs will vary.

Quartz although a natural stone is a man made product. Quartz is broken down into small pieces and processed into high quality surfaces capable of being highly resistant to staining and scratches. Anti bacteria surfaces and a wide range of colours show why quartz has become popular in recent years. Unlike granite quartz is uniform so a pattern you see in our samples is the same for the whole slab.

Whether you’re a granite or quartz fan, both surfaces are going to give your kitchen years of pleasure and satisfaction.
